𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗘 𝗭𝗘𝗔𝗟

 

 

Did you know that you can burn for spiritual things, have deep passion to pray and read your Bible, be zealous in everything that concerns God but still be offtrack?

 

 

It might be hard to believe but it's true. 

 

 

When you lack 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 on what is making you zealous or why you are burning for God, you will definitely deviate from God's Truth and the purpose of His Gospel.

 

 

Let's look at what Apostle Paul wrote in his epistle to the church in Rome. 👇

 

Romans 10:1 

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel(Jewish people) is, that they might be saved (through the Gospel)."

 

Romans 10:2 

"For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge."

 

 

The Jewish people (people of circumcision) since the time of Abraham had always been very zealous concerning the promise which was given to them by God.

 

 

In the book of Hebrews, chapter 12, we see that Jesus Christ (through His finished work) was the fulfillment of the promise made by God. 

 

 

Hence, seeing that Jesus was the promise of God fulfilled, why didn't the Jewish people receive it (at the particular period Apostle lamented on it to the church in Rome) after zealously waiting?

 

 

It's because they lacked the knowledge of it! As it is written in the scriptures, "𝑴𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆".

  

 

What exactly was the knowledge they lacked? 👇

 

Romans 10:3 

"For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God."

 

 

Let's look at another translation 👇

 

Romans 10:3 

"They have not known the way in which God puts people right with himself, and instead, they have tried to set up their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God's way of putting people right."

 

 

The Jewish people had set up their own way of righteousness (approval), being ignorant of the way God puts people right with Himself!

The Jews believed (and some are still believing) that it's through their works that they are set right with God.

 

 

Romans 5:1 

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

 

 

It is through our Faith in the finished work of Christ that we are justified. It is only Faith in Jesus that's makes us righteous; not works.

This is the knowledge that they went contrary to.

 

 

Dear friends, there is no other means to please God than through Jesus Christ. 

 

 

Until the "𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒛𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒅" and "𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒅" is because of what Christ did on the cross and the results of it, then our service is not according to knowledge.
